- Video quality assessment
- 3D surface acquisition
- Content-based 3D model retrieval
- Geometry compression: mesh simplification and coding
- Scientific visualization

- Fractal image compression
- Medical image processing: image compression for radiological imagery, digital angiography, clustering methods for functional imaging, automatic motion extraction for MR spectrography, segmentation of 3D ultrasound data
- Video coding: real-time software only methods, wavelets
- Efficient transmission of multimedia data over unreliable channels
- Data assimilation in weather forecast simulations
- Point-based computer graphics
- Numerical continuation methods
