Welcome to our website! Our main focus is on the international comparison of education systems. Hence, our interests lie within the field of comparative politics, political economy, welfare state research and party politics. Both our research and teaching fall within these fields.

We like to welcome our new team member Philip Rathgeb who is working as a research scientist at the chair since October

Marius Busemeyer will be on leave during the winter term 2016/17 and the summer term 2017. During this time, Julian Garritzmann will be substituting for his teaching as deputy professor (Lehrstuhlvertretung).

On 27 October 2016, Marius Busemeyer will talk at the colloquium of the Amsterdam Center for Inequality Studies (AMCIS).

Marius Busemeyer will hold a keynote address at the Conference of the „International Comparative (Adult) Education Research: Multidisciplinary and Cross-National Research Approaches”, organized by Deutsches Institut für Erwachsenenbildung in Bonn (12 September to 13 September 2016).

Early September Marius Busemeyer talked about „Research and policymaking in education“ at a symposium of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm.

Julian Garritzmann presented current research at the APSA General Conference, Philadelphia, discussing at a roundtable on the topic "Higher Education Disrupted".

Dominik Lober, Erik Neimanns and Janis Vossiek presented papers at the ESPAnet Conference, Rotterdam.

Marius Busemeyer, Julian Garritzmann and Erik Neumanns organized a workshop on "Public Opinion and Policy Feedback".

Our former team member Ulrich Glanzmann became full professor at the University of Flensburg. Our warmest congratulations!
